Dear Friends and Customers,
In
the Spring of 2007, we held a contest for you, my Esens customers and
friends, to name our Spring Signature Perfume. Richard Byrd of Bisbee,
AZ won with the name Ocotillo Moon.
We
all had such fun with this that I want you to help me name my Summer
Signature Fragrance that will be launched in June 2008. Please submit
up to three names by April 25. I will select the top 5-7 that are
unique, refreshing and appealing, and I will list them for you to vote
on in my May newsletter.
The winner with the most votes will
receive a bottle of the Summer scent along with a choice of a custom
fragrance or gift certificate (a $150 value). And, if you have your own
web site, it will be featured both on my web site and in the June
newsletter.
Your name suggestions will be the inspiration for the new Esens Signature Scent. I am so excited to hear from you!

Responding to a Customer's Question
After Stephanie received her custom fragrance that she called "Forever Stephanie", she wrote:
"I
just got my fragrance. I LOVE IT! I can hardly believe it. I can't wait
for my husband's reaction...and others. I'll keep you posted. How do
you do it? Do you have a 6th sense you go by?"
My
response: "I'm so glad, Stephanie! Thank you for letting me know. Yes,
my process is largely intuitive. I really try to listen to my
customer's words, for one. I spend a fair amount of time simply and
quietly reflecting on the customer (sometimes for several days), almost
like a meditation and I form the intention
and wish to create the best scent for them. When I am in a clear space
such as this, that is when the "magic" happens and your scent formula
comes to me almost as a breath."
The next time you are in a shop
that does "custom fragrancing" observe how most will have you pick 2-3
scents to mix or they will have assorted pre-mixed blends. This is not
the same as the ancient technique of having a genuine perfumer
custom-blend an average of 7-12 distinct fragrance notes for you and
you alone. To have an Esens Fragrance is a rare thing indeed; there
are only a handful of us who have been trained in this mystical art.
